Description

Miyagikyo 2000’s Bottling Note

Miyagikyo 2000’s is a vatted whisky composed exclusively of malt whiskies distilled between 2000 and 2009. It boasts a robust 57% ABV, bottled at almost cask strength. It was an exclusive release available only at the Miyagikyo Distillery shop.

The selected whiskies were aged for a minimum of nine years, though depending on the bottling year, some may include components matured for 10 to 19 years. It’s distinguished by fresh fruit aromas—like apple and grape—and a gentle malt sweetness.

First released in 2014 as a distillery-exclusive product, it’s now discontinued and incredibly difficult to find.

Miyagikyo 2000’s Tasting Note

Nose: A medley of fruit—apple, grape, pineapple, and lime—layered with sweet, malty notes.

Palate: Rich and expressive, featuring ripe fruit character, hints of caramel and honey, orange peel, bitter chocolate, and the toasted nuttiness of roasted barley.

Finish: A lingering brandy-like depth with woody notes from the cask and a subtle touch of peat.

Overall: The 57% ABV gives it a spirited kick and a youthful edge, yet it’s a rare chance to experience Miyagikyo in a near-cask-strength presentation. Deep, bold, and brimming with savory malt flavor.
