This careful creation of varied raw spirits occurs throughout the major stages of whisky making, and even in the mashing process, using different barley varieties contributes to this rich diversity.
Released on August 31, 2021, the fifth installment, The Essence of Suntory Whisky Yamazaki 11 Year Old Islay Peated Malt, is a single malt whisky made with malted barley that has been dried using peat sourced from the Isle of Islay.
One of the unique features of Islay peat is the marine influence it carries due to the island’s coastal location. We invite you to savor the powerful peatiness and briny aroma of Islay peat, along with the whisky’s smooth texture.
