Speyside 27 Year Old Single Cask (Cadenhead Gold Label) Bottoling Notes

This Speyside 27 Year Old was released as a Gold Label from bottlers Cadenhead. Gold Label is the top series in the Cadenhead range and features a rare single cask.

The original whisky for this whisky is from the Speyside Distillery in the Highlands region. Although it has the name Speyside, the distillery itself is somewhat minor, and the distillery says, “It’s one of Scotland’s most hidden distilleries.”

*The most famous whisky from the Speyside distillery is ‘Spey’. Everything from the name of the distillery to the name of the whisky is tied to Speyside, which makes things a lot more complicated.

This whisky from the Speyside distillery was matured for 27 years in bourbon hogsheads. Bottled as single cask whisky. This is a rare Cadenhead Gold Label single cask. It was produced in a limited edition of 300 bottles.

Tasting notes

Nose: Focaccia, milk chocolate, hazelnut spread, powdered sugar.

Palate: Cherry tomatoes, honeycomb, olive oil.

Finish: Strawberry puree, ginger ale, clove oil.

Reviews from those who actually drank it showed that it was “very complex and wonderful” and “quite an aggressive flavor…”.
