AMAHAGAN Madoromi Barmaid (Sleepy Barmaid) Yuki Tsukikawa Bottling Note

This is a special AMAHAGAN collaboration with Yuki Tsukikawa, a character from the manga “Madoromi Barmaid” (Sleepy Barmaid). She’s a female bartender who runs the whimsical pop-up bar “SATELLITE,” which appears and disappears on moonlit nights.

To capture her “calm and composed” personality, the key malt selected was a full-bodied and deep Cabernet Sauvignon red wine cask matured whisky. By incorporating a delicate, fruity white wine cask matured whisky as part of the blend, they’ve achieved a double wine cask blend – red wine cask and white wine cask – showcasing her signature twist (or arrangement) in flavor. The result is an elegant and deeply fruity taste profile.

The bottle label and outer box feature a special design by manga author Pao Hayakawa, depicting the “SATELLITE” counter with a view of the sunset over Lake Biwa, where you can enjoy your AMAHAGAN.

AMAHAGAN Madoromi Barmaid (Sleepy Barmaid) Yuki Tsukikawa is a limited release of 2,000 bottles. As Yuki Tsukikawa is a central character in the manga and this is the first release in the whisky series, it has already garnered a premium price on the market.

AMAHAGAN Madoromi Barmaid (Sleepy Barmaid) Yuki Tsukikawa Tasting Note

Nose: A charming top note, like delicate flowers. Sweet and creamy aromas reminiscent of freshly baked orange galette, custard, vanilla, and honey. As time passes, a minty freshness emerges, along with a hint of sweet and sour cherry essence.

Palate: The rich sweetness is prominent on the palate, with malty notes from the barley, white chocolate, grapefruit, and raisins. A very rich, velvety mouthfeel, and a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth sensation like snow.

Finish: A warm spiciness and dry aftertaste provide a satisfyingly tight finish.

Overall: A strong sweetness and spiciness, reminiscent of the Madoromi Barmaid story.
