The Macallan Estate Bottling Notes

The ‘estate’ in The Macallan Estate means a large ‘farm’. The whisky is named Estate because it is made from home-grown barley grown on The Macallan’s own farm, Easter Elchies Estate.

This precious barley grown on the estate grows on the banks of the River Spey and is distilled for only one week each year, making it a rare whisky.

The Macallan Estate is a limited edition single malt with subtle hints of citrus fruit balanced by the richness of traditional sherry, resulting in a very long finish.

It is presented in a beautiful case with hand-crafted inlays representing the landscape of Scotland, home of The Macallan.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warm, pleasant and homely aroma of cinnamon. Wood spice and orange oil, dried fruit, sweet lemon, banana and caramel notes.

Palate: Soft, warm aromas of woodspice lead to dry oak flavours with hints of candied raisins and fresh figs. The nose evolves into sweet fresh orange and delicate fresh citrus notes.

Finish: Followed by sweet citrus notes.
