AMAHAGAN World Blended Madoromi Barmaid (Sleepy Barmaid) Bottle Shannon Fu is a blended whiskey produced and sold by Nagahama Distillery in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It is released on March 26, 2024 and is the 4th product in collaboration with the popular manga “Madoromi Barmaid” (Sleepy Barmaid).

The character Shannon Hu is Ashley’s younger sister who enhances the work along with the main characters. This is a special AMAHAGAN with the motif of Shannon Hu, who has the personality of “going my own way”, which is also the word for the cocktail “Old Fashioned”. Blended to match the Old Fashioned, a classic cocktail made with bourbon and rye whisky, it combines the calm, gentle and floral flavour of the original sherry cask whisky, which is reminiscent of Shannon, with two different types of grain whisky to create a strong bourbon-like wood flavor with a gorgeous aroma.

A blended whisky with a very mellow flavour, suitable not only straight or on the rocks, but also as a cocktail base. The design was drawn by Pao Hayakawa.

AMAHAGAN Madoromi Barmaid (Sleepy Barmaid) Shannon Hu Tasting Note

Nose: Deep amber in colour. The top notes are gentle wood and spicy aromas of cloves and nutmeg. With time, the sweet aromas of caramel sauce and fruity notes reminiscent of ripe oranges become more pronounced.

Palate: On the palate, fresh white peach compote and tropical fruits on the attack, with woodiness and spice from the oak in the middle.

Finish: The aftertaste is dry and full-bodied.
