Contrary to what the name might suggest, there’s no such thing as a “Blanton’s Distillery.” Production is actually handled by the massive bourbon maker, Buffalo Trace Distillery. “Blanton’s” is simply the brand name.

Moreover, the barrels used for Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel are carefully selected from Buffalo Trace’s vast collection of 400,000 barrels, choosing only those that exhibit exceptional flavor.

The practice of bottling single-barrel bourbons, pioneered by Elmer T. Lee, has become a hallmark of Blanton’s and other premium whiskey brands. Lee recognized that each barrel of bourbon develops its own unique character due to factors like the specific wood of the barrel, the climate, and the length of time it spends aging. By bottling a single barrel, he could capture the individual nuances and flavors of that particular spirit.

Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel is crafted from corn, rye, and malted barley, following traditional bourbon-making methods.
