Jura
Jura is a single malt Scotch whisky produced at the Jura Distillery on the Isle of Jura, Scotland. Originally established in 1810 and later modernised in the 20th century, the distillery operates in a remote island environment that influences its identity. As a single malt, Jura is known for producing a range of styles, from unpeated to lightly peated expressions.
The range includes both core and cask-finished releases, often matured in ex-bourbon casks with additional finishing in wine or sherry casks. Compared to Islay whiskies, Jura is typically positioned as less heavily peated and more approachable. Its island origin and flexible production style define its place within the Scotch whisky category.
