Laphroaig
Laphroaig is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky produced at the Laphroaig Distillery on the island of Islay, Scotland. Established in 1815, the distillery is known for its use of heavily peated malt and traditional floor malting practices for a portion of its production. As a single malt, Laphroaig is closely associated with a distinctive coastal and smoky style shaped by its island location.
The range includes core age-stated expressions and cask variations, often matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Compared to other Islay whiskies, Laphroaig is typically positioned as more medicinal and intensely peated. Its combination of peat influence and maritime character defines its place within the Islay category.
